Coach Paul Vaith

Coach Paul Vaith hails from Blooming Prairie, MN. In high school, he was a 4-year letter winner, 4-time All-Conference, and a MN State Qualifier. After high school, he attended and wrestled for  St. Thomas University, but was sidelined with knee injuries. This is where Coach Vaith’s coaching career began, spending 7 years at St. Thomas, 1 year at Bloomington Lincoln HS, and now 38 years at Hastings HS. During his time as head coach, Mr. Vaith recorded 412 dual meet victories! Coach Vaith’s favorite part of Hastings wrestling is working with our young men and women. His favorite moment was winning State Titles in 1996 and 2023. He is most excited to see the individual growth of our young men and women as they pursue their dreams and in turn, leading to team success as well. Mr. Vaith always supports the two keys to success in life: having a positive mental attitude and a great work ethic. Mr. Vaith has been married for 46 years. He has been retired for four years and is a full time dad and grandpa to his 6 children and 7 grandchildren. Mr. Vaith is the 1996, Minnesota Wrestling Coach of the Year, was inducted into the Minnesota Wrestling Coaches Association Hall of Fame, and recently inducted into his high school's (Blooming Prairie) Hall of Fame.
