Hastings Wrestling

  Kayla Williams is the daughter of Robert and Amy and one sister named Lea. Her favorite band is Alice in chains, TV Show is Games of Thrones, favorite movie is The Crow, and her favorite food is Tacos. If Kayla was a Nascar driver, the sponsorship on the hood of her car that describes her the best would be Arizona Tea. Kayla started wrestling during her freshman year of high school and got into it because of her dad. Her initial thoughts about wrestling was being nervous because she had never done anything like it before. She is continually driven by her determination to get better. Kayla's goal this year is to qualify for the state tournament. Her favorite moment from last season was competing in sections. Finally, Kayla is excited to get more experience and improve her technique Trinity Yates is the daughter of Stacy. Coach Alisha Brown is a 2022 graduate of Hastings High School. While in high school, she competed in soccer, wrestling, and lacrosse. During her senior year of high school, she tried wrestling for the first time in her life and ended the season with a 3rd place finish at the inaugural Girls State Wrestling Tournament. Alisha is entering her first season of coaching and wanted to come back to Hastings High School because of her love of the sport of wrestling. Her favorite thing about Hastings wrestling is the environment. The one thing she is most excited for in the future of Hastings wrestling is to deepen relationships, make a difference in peoples lives, and be of some to help others. Finally, Alisha added, " I want to help create an environment where when the girls are at practice, they feel safe, have fun, and want to improve themselves and their ability. :) "
